On 21 May 2026, in the impressive building of the Vigadó Concert Hall in the center of Budapest, a magnificent and ceremonial atmosphere hosted the international event BAUMIT LIFE CHALLENGE 2026, attended by more than 300 representatives from almost all European countries, with architects making up the majority.
Baumit Macedonia invited a small group of architects, including the President of the Association of Architects, representatives from the Faculty of Architecture and Design at the American College, and owners of several prominent architectural studios.
The event is held every two years, and the location depends on the winner of the previous edition. A large number of architectural projects are submitted—completed buildings across European countries where Baumit façade systems have been applied—divided into several categories.
This year in Budapest, there were more than 350 submissions, and 36 completed architectural projects were shortlisted across a total of six categories. Six awards were presented, one in each category, and the main award was given to a project in Germany for the reconstruction, conversion, and adaptive reuse of silos into a hotel.
